Jojoba oil is a liquid wax that revitalises, regenerates and soothes irritated skin, strengthening it and preventing the formation of wrinkles. Its ease of absorption and its great ability to penetrate through the small pores of the epidermis, leaving it smooth and silky, confer to jojoba oil an excellent moisturising action. For this reason, it is used in natural cosmetics pure or combined with other plant-based oils to make them more absorbable, or as a carrier for essential oils. It performs an action similar to that of human sebum, an oily substance that helps keeping the skin moisturised and protected from the attack of external agents (bacteria, sun, wind, chemicals in the air), thus preventing dryness and irritation. When the natural hydrolipid layer of the skin is weakened by the use of aggressive detergents, sun lamps or lack of hydration, irritation or flaking can occur.
